This is a very smooth and creamy, yet dry, roasted stout. It has the delicate aroma of fresh chocolate and fresh barley. The flavor is well balanced with the subtle fruity characteristics of an Irish Ale yeast fermentation and rich layers of chocolate, coffee, and dry roasted malts.
Note about the yeast: This kit comes with S-04 dry yeast for shipping and storage purposes (no dry Irish yeast exists yet). Jeff Sheehan uses WLP004 Irish Ale Yeast in the brewery. Both will make an excellent beer, but pick up some liquid Irish Ale yeast to make the recipe exact and save the S-04 for a future brew.
